Inov-8 X-talon 190 - first impression

are after my ordered shoes for the Via Alpina did not arrive in time I had to quickly get replacements. As the Race Lite store on the way and I was already longer the X-Talon (especially the new model 190) had in mind, I've taken there .

I could test now 7 days on different surfaces and I am thrilled!

The shoes have the lowest sole structure, the Inov-8's in there. 6mm in the front foot, 9 mm in the heel. This was also the reason why they were so interesting. Since I'm already busy with the longer walking barefoot, they are perfect for me, hard for an Alpine use. Whether the shoes look the same way, just wanted to be tried.

First a few photos as impressions:

Some words should be considered before buying the shoes. This shoe is not for everyone. You should be aware that the shoe has little attenuation. As I with my Five Fingers, the "shoe-free" run was already used, it should be no problem for me. I am the complete tour to the front, middle or run. I have yet to do with any other shoe, because that had always prevented the wedge shape of the soles. I walk these routes on such days still was not accustomed to recognize I had quickly. After the first stage of acclimatization of about 3.5 h, the foot muscles properly made apparent. This feeling ripped by the end of the tour, not from what to do with increased daily stages had. This feeling I place but not negative. It was evident that the work had to walk-the way I want it. Even now I still have a little soreness. In
short distances on the road I'm running temporarily on the heel. As has been the lack of padding but quickly had an impact.
This is probably a shoe for Vorder-/Mittelfußläufer or a competition shoe for light runners.

The details of the shoe:

sole :
The rubber sole is very soft . The advantage is of course a brilliant grip. The disadvantage is that the rubber no street like it. On rough, hard surfaces of the wear is almost palpable ... Thus, should such a site can be avoided. On the tour, had the shoes total about 20km to cover on asphalt. The
Stollen favor of course a great grip, especially on wet / soft Unterründen. In the snow they made a good impression.

The soft sole result, were pushed in on hard surfaces the studs so far that wear is visible on the surface. I think that's not bad, the tunnels might keep longer ;-)

The sole, after about 120 km stone, gravel, grass, gravel, asphalt and mud.

Here you can see the extreme wear on the asphalt. Here are some speed at heel Stollen very abraded.

Shell:

The debris protection in the toe box is best funkioniert. Despite rock contact is not a rubbing spot. Not even on the mesh next to it:
Despite the large Meshoberfläche but I had always sweaty feet, that may possibly have also leaned on the warm weather. If you have wind, but a cooling train may find in the foot were very pleasant :-)
If the shoes get wet, they were back the next day dry-very nice!

Joa, as far from my side. I will test the shoes for a while. When I got through, there's another addendum :-)

Oh yes, still have a video:
X-Talon vs. Kuhhufe :-)

The shoes weigh an average of 242gr in 10.5 and have broken through to my current favorite shoe. The purist approach is right up my alley ;-)
there's some point, maybe even the F-Lite 195 for the road.

It also will give a comparison with the Icebug Celeritas pursuing a similar concept!

If questions exist as ever-so-out ;-)
